North State Express Connect Business Plan RFP
The Shasta Regional Transportation Agency (SRTA) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to complete a North State Express Connect Business Plan for intercity express bus service that is innovative, environmentally friendly, secure, and technology-enabled. It is envisioned that the service will have four daily round-trips on all-electric buses between Redding and Sacramento along an Interstate 5 backbone service. Connections will also be offered from other North State regions. To attract choice riders, passengers will be provided comfortable armchair seating, work surfaces, and free Wi-Fi service.
The objective of the business plan is to describe the details of enhanced bus transit that provides meaningful connections for rural north state citizens to key Sacramento destinations, including the Amtrak Sacramento Station, Sacramento International Airport and Downtown Sacramento.
A pre-proposal meeting will be held on May 9, 2017, at 1:00 P.M. Pacific Time at SRTA. Proposals are due by 5:00 P.M. Pacific Time on May 30, 2017.
